Live Visuals & Tour Projection Design

My work with Black Moth Super Rainbow spanned multiple tours and special shows, where I designed a full live visual experience to mirror the band’s surreal, analog-psychedelic energy. Each song had its own visual world built from footage I personally filmed throughout the Cleveland Metroparks, combined with animated elements created in Blender and layered motion graphics developed in Apple Motion 5 and Adobe Premiere.

The live stage setup featured a transparent scrim screen in front and a second projection surface behind the band, allowing visuals to float in space, surround the performers, and shift between dimensional layers. This dual-screen design created depth, immersion, and that hazy dream-state BMSR is known for, blending organic nature imagery, distorted textures, and analog-style animation into a fully synchronized visual performance.
